This year's ride combines elements of several past rides.
Ride Highlights:
Ride to Sacramento, then train to Reno. US 50 across Nevada, US 6 through Utah, then back to US50 through Steamboat Springs. Cross Continental Divide at Rabbit Ears Pass (same as 1985 and 2015), elevation 9426 ft.
Then over Cameron Pass (10,276 ft), with a subsequent drop of about 5,400 ft. into Fort Collins. Then bike to Denver. At that juncture, I will take Amtrak from Denver to Omaha to save enough time to be able to drop down to Maine after Quebec for Lobster at the end of the trip.
Continue across the Midwest to Milwaukee, then ferry to Michigan. Cross Michigan, take ferry north of Detroit into Ontario, then bike to Quebec City, and proceed to Kittery ME.
